Dental Implants in Santa Clarita
Dental implants replace a missing tooth from the root up: a post in the jaw, then a crown or a denture on top. This page is the overview, and each option has a page of its own.
What to expect from dental implants with us
A missing tooth costs more than a gap. The practice's implants page lists the problems in order: chewing and nutrition suffer, a front gap affects confidence, and the jaw bone under the space starts to recede, which can loosen neighboring teeth over time. An implant is the one replacement that goes into the bone itself, which is why it helps stop that slide.
The treatment works the same way whether one tooth is missing or several. The dentist sets a screw-shaped post where the root used to be, a temporary tooth goes on, and after about two to four months, once the bone has fused to the post, the permanent crown is placed. When most teeth are gone, posts like these can anchor a denture instead of individual crowns.
Planning starts with an exam and X-rays. Thin bone may need a graft first and failing teeth may need to come out, both handled in this office, with periodontist Dr. Dennis R. Hunt on the team. Before treatment the front desk runs a complimentary benefits analysis, and financing is available interest-free for up to 12 months.

Dental Implants FAQ
An exam and X-rays decide it. The main question is whether there is enough bone to hold a post; if not, a graft may come first.
For most single and multiple tooth replacements the procedure is done under local anesthesia, and patients mainly notice some vibration. Sedation options are available as needed if you are anxious.
About two to four months after the post is placed, once it has fused with the bone, the permanent crown goes on.
